We present the new format of the gluten free line of La Granja Foods, a case of 1x1 packaged product containing 30 units.

Sugar-free traditional sponge cake with maltitol sweetener, gluten-free, lactose-free, without milk protein or maize flour. This light, smooth traditional sponge cake prepared without sugar has less calories.

This product has the seal of La Espiga Barrada and license number ES-055-020, certified by FACE (Federación de Asociaciones de Celiacs de España) which belongs to the AOECS (Association of Celiac Societies of Europe).

Box of traditional sponge cake, sugar-free, gluten-free and lactose-free. From the very beginning, crafting our products to the best of our ability and ensuring great taste has been a core value we refuse to compromise on.

In 1954, our grandparents owned a small store next to their modest chicken farm. They sold eggs to the neighborhood along with all kinds of groceries. One day, the store ran out of muffins, one of its most popular products. To satisfy the customers, our grandmother decided to bake her own muffin recipe in her home kitchen. Her huge success surprised everyone, and sales kept growing. That’s how La Granja was born, and we learned an important lesson that we carry with us to this day: work hard and always do your best to satisfy your customers.

This approach started with the first traditional specialties that made us well-known and has continued throughout our journey as we constantly add new products to our range.

Anticipating the needs and desires of consumers has made us a benchmark for quality and innovation in the food industry. In the 1980s, La Granja became a pioneer by creating specialties tailored to various dietary needs, which today form part of our Diet range.

Later, we launched the Bio range, using only ingredients from organic agriculture. Following this, we introduced the Vegan range for strictly vegan consumption, along with Gluten-Free and Lactose-Free products, which are produced in separate facilities.

What is the difference between "sugar-free" and "without added sugar"?

Food without added sugar are those that have been cooked or processed without any kind of sugar or syrup (either white or brown sugar, honey, syrup…), that is, that no food sweetener has been added to it.

A sugar-free food is one that does not have naturally present sugars.

In the case of sugar-free sponge cake with maltitol sweetener, gluten- and lactose-free, is free of added sugars and also of sugars that are naturally present in the product.

Are La Granja Foods gluten-free products safe and suitable for celiacs?

We have built a new factory to be able to prepare and bake all our products free of gluten, lactose and corn, and thus comply with all the health requisites to avoid cross-contamination with the rest of preparation at La Granja Foods, thus guaranteeing the consumer safety.

All our gluten-free products contain less than 20 ppm of gluten, a parameter that the current regulations establish as the limit for the food to be suitable and safe for celiacs and the gluten intolerant.

What is the IFS FOOD certification?

At La Granja Foods, we hold the IFS 2024 certification with a High Level result, marking 10 consecutive years of achieving the annual IFS certification.

IFS Food is a food safety standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) for auditing companies involved in food manufacturing. It also applies to businesses that handle and package bulk food products, with a strong focus on the quality and safety of processed food products.

Is La Granja Foods gluten-free line a recent line?

Yes, the gluten-free line from La Granja Foods is our most recent project, developed after six years of research and investment, over 1,000 product tests, and the creation of a new dedicated production facility. This entire journey has been worth it to achieve this significant challenge—a personal and professional goal for the entire La Granja Foods family.

This project originated from the specific requirements set forth by the Celiac Association of Catalonia: the need for a product that is gluten-free, lactose-free, and corn-free, offering a range distinct from what was already on the market. The goal was to ensure that the consumer would feel included, not singled out as “special.”

It has been a challenge we’ve loved working on and are proud to have accomplished.

Do La Granja Foods gluten-free products contain lactose?

All the sponge cakes and fairy cakes in this line are lactose-free. As we explained in the previous question, this line arose from precise specifications by the Celiac Association of Catalonia, among these requests there was that for a gluten- and lactose-free product, so we set about producing it!
