Instructions
Here’s another idea for presenting your Panettone this Christmas to surprise your guests.
- Start by melting the dark chocolate in a double boiler. To melt chocolate in a double boiler, you only need two heatproof containers—one larger than the other. Fill the bottom of a saucepan with water, without reaching halfway, and place a smaller bowl or container on top. It’s important that the top container doesn’t touch the bottom of the pan, and no water should come into contact with the chocolate. Place the chopped chocolate into the top container before heating. Then, heat at a low temperature, gradually warming the water without allowing it to boil. This method prevents the chocolate from getting damaged or contaminated by water, as even a drop could ruin the result.
- Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in the microwave. If you have a microwave, it’s a very practical appliance. For melting dark chocolate in the microwave, break the chocolate bars into pieces of even size. Place all the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in the microwave. Use 700W power for 2.5 minutes. If you’re melting only half a bar, reduce the time to 2 minutes. Remove the bowl and stir the chocolate—it will melt smoothly into a creamy consistency.
- Once the chocolate is melted, add 1/4 cup of milk and stir well.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the Panettone and decorate it with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
